 Tips & Techniques:

Serjame’s Final Touch

Swirl a small amount of Final Touch, angle the Elite soft Kabuki Brush and swirl into the lid until all the Final Touch has been tucked into the bristles. Tap away excess. There should be no visible Final Touch on the outside of the brush. Buff the Final Touch into the skin in a circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbone, swirling as you go. Buff around your face and then approach your forehead, cheeks, and nose.

For applying mineral makeup

Lay a paper towel or wet wipe onto your counter before beginning. This will aid in a fast cleanup later!

It's important to begin with a clean, dry face. Any moisturizers, creams, lotions and serums should be completely absorbed into the facial area prior to applying your mineral makeup.

Foundation: Tap or scoop a small amount of loose powder into your container lid or small swirls bowl, and swirl your quality kabuki brush into it. Tap the handle (with the brush head facing up) of the loaded brush on a hard surface. This will allow the powder to settle into the brush head. Firmly spread powder on clean, dry skin to evenly blend your foundation color.

For problem areas, a separate Concealer is not necessary. Use a taklon brush to apply small amounts of foundation to the problem areas and blend well. For dry, flaky skin, we recommend Magic Plush formula with Vitamin E for added protection; this product is coming soon. Your mineral foundation can be blended with a natural cream or lotion to create a cream foundation. First moisturize as usual, and then scoop a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand. Add a drop of moisturizer, lotion or aloe vera juice. Blend together until smooth and creamy. Use a flocked sponge to apply. Sponges can create an even spread right under the eyelash.

Blush: Using an angled blush brush, fan brush, flat top bronzer or powder dome, apply a small amount of pigment to the cheek area. Blushes should be applied to look natural. Start light; it's easier to build more color as needed than trying to take too much color away. Apply to your cheeks, brushing forward from your hairline. The largest amount of color should be concentrated in this area. If applying a bronzer, use the same technique as blushes.

Body Shimmer: Use a powder dome brush, flat top bronzer or cotton ball and lightly pick up the loose powder from your swirls bowl. Dust the powder onto you shoulders, and even sometimes your neck, and breast if some cleavage is showing.

Eye Shadow: Using your shadow brush, dip just the tip of the brush into loose powder, and then tap the brush on the side of the container to remove any excess powder. Brush gently on your lids, crease, or under the brow making sure to blend until a natural look is achieved.

There are many different ways to apply shadow, depending on the look or effect you want to achieve. The wonderful aspect of mineral makeup is that they blend so nicely with each other. You can always layer several to get the affect you want to achieve. The right technique can create an illusion to draw wide set eyes closer, deep set eyes out, etc. You can create your very own perfect illusion :)

Choose a light color for your base color and apply from your lid to brow bone. This primes the lid and creates a uniform color to apply your other colors on.

Add a deeper color in your crease, feathering the color up so it blends. Remember to begin with a light hand. You can add more color if needed. Apply a complimentary lighter color on your lid, and blend lightly into the deeper color in your crease.

For deeper color and more shimmer, you can ”foil” your shadow using the liquid eyeliner technique shown below, covering the entire lid area using a wet powder. After the shadow dries, blend lightly to soften the edges. Elegant Glimmers work very well for foiling, taking on an iridescent quality like no other as well as Magic eye shadows.

Liquid Eye Liner: (Wet-Lining) Place a small amount of powder into a lid or swirl bowl. Using a moistened liner brush ( Like aloe vera juice but water is fine), dip the tip into loose powder. Using your lid or the back of your hand, mix the powder and liquid together to create a smooth consistency. Working swiftly, carefully apply to upper and/or lower lids starting as close to the lashes as possible. Don’t line the inter area of the eye it can cause irritation!

Lip Color: If you are using a lip brush, scoop minerals into a lid or swirl bowl. Grab some clear lip gloss/balm onto a clean brush, and then into loose powder. Apply the mix to your lips and blend well.

Nail Polish: Using a good quality clear nail polish, dip a loaded brush in loose powder and polish onto nails. Our Delightful Glimmers work great as nail polish. You can also mix loose powder into colored nail polish to create fantastic custom colors by the bottle. Shake well prior to each application.

Cleaning Your Brushes, etc.: It's extremely important to keep your brushes clean. Wash them at least twice weekly in a solution of baby shampoo or a gentle soap. Rinse well, allow to air dry on a paper towel. Fluffs when completely dry.
