WHAT IT IS SMC'S Magic Matte Base for Eyes? It’s a unique blend of Mica, Titanium Dioxide and Magnesium Stearate, all natural minerals.
WHY USE IT? While you can use SMC'S colored micas and pigment micas "as is" for your makeup (such as an eye shadow, eyeliner, etc.), you may wish to blend the colored micas with a "filler" or our SMC'S Magic Matte Base Texture. Why would you do this?
A filler is often less expensive than the colored mica, and using a filler will reduce your costs;
The filler may improve the performance of the colored mica, making it have better adhesion, better sheen, better slip, etc.
HOW TO USE IT? :
Spoon an amount of colored mica into a small zip lock bag Provided in your kit (example: 4 parts or 1/4 teaspoon).
Spoon 1 part amount of Magic Matte Base Texture into the bag as well (example: A-Pinch - 1/16 teaspoon).
Zip the bag closed and mush together with your fingers for 30 seconds.
Unzip the bag and test the color. If you like, add more Magic Base Matte Texture .
Tips . . .
Start with the colored mica and add the Magic Base Matte Texture to it (not the other way around).
Add small amounts of the Magic Base Matte Texture and work your way up. The more Magic Base Matte Texture you add, (the lighter and less sparkly the color will become, so be careful you are not trying to add the filler to save money, rather just making the color a little lighter to your liking.)
For larger projects, use a larger zip lock bag. We do not recommend using a blender or grinder as the shear force of these machines can damage the structure of the mica. Also, it is not necessary. Simple shaking is all that is required.
You will see why we recommend using our Magic Base Texture. We feel that this blend is best at staying true to color, while it simultaneously improves slip and adhesion.
